This beautiful holiday house is situated in a very quiet area about 10 km away from Cortona. It offers a marvellous view of the “Valdichiana” (Chiana valley).
When Hannibal traversed Etruria in order to conquer Rome, the Chiana valley has been Etruria’s breadbasket and continued to be for a long time. Today the hilly landscape with its olive trees, vineyards, orchards and grain fields still is a prolific area. The beautiful city of Cortona is situated right in the heart of it and offers a splendid view on the valley.
We recommend day trips to the Lago di Trasimeno lake (24 km) and Arezzo (38 km).
Your holiday rental is a former windmill. Its furnishing is nice and comfortable.
A second holiday rental is also situated on the property (433 COR) as well as a unit, where your discrete and friendly landlords may stay from time to time.
I front of your house is situated a nice garden with a lovely view. It is equipped with a table and chairs, a BBQ, a table tennis table and a hammock. A little path leads you to the pool (11 m x 5 m, depth 1,30 m) surrounded with nature. You share it with the inhabitants of the holiday unit 433 COR. Of course, the pool area is equipped with deck chairs and sunshades, too.
Here is the layout of the house:
On the ground floor, you find a small open kitchen (4 gas burners, electric oven, refrigerator, coffee maker) as well as the living area (fireplace, dining table, sofa, TV with satellite channels). A stairway gives access to the bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a 160 cm double bed. The second one has two 80 cm single beds, which have been pushed together. Both bedrooms share a bathroom (shower + WC).
The furniture is antique and beautiful, and the house is very neat and tidy.
Parking spaces are available in the back of the house. Well-educated animals may be accommodated on request. All shopping facilities are about 3 km away. There is a shared laundry (washing machine, iron board, wash-bowl). The last bit of the access road (800 m) is a dirt road. You can taste the olive oil and the vine, which are produced on the property. Especially the very typical Vin Santo. Moreover, your landlords have five horses and may organise trail rides on demand.
Tuscany is world famous for its beautiful landscape and offers a multitude of hiking trails. Visit the culturally important cities Florence (also referred to as “birthplace of the Renaissance”), Siena (with its unique “Piazza del Campo”) or Pisa (because of its famous leaning tower).
Enjoy Tuscany’s culinary richness, too! Vines, olive oil, cheese, the famous “Lardo di Colonnata” (bacon from the nearby city of Colonnata) and the most delicious “Cantucci” (almond biscuit served with a glass of Vin Santo) await you!
