This beautiful holiday house is situated in a very quiet area about 10 km away from Cortona. It offers a marvellous view of the “Valdichiana” (Chiana valley).
When Hannibal traversed Etruria in order to conquer Rome, the Chiana valley has been Etruria’s breadbasket and continued to be for a long time. Today the hilly landscape with its olive trees, vineyards, orchards and grain fields still is a prolific area. The beautiful city of Cortona is situated right in the heart of it and offers a splendid view on the valley.
We recommend day trips to the Lago di Trasimeno lake (24 km) and Arezzo (38 km).
Your nicely furnished holiday unit is situated on the first floor of an old stone house. An external staircase gives access to it.
A second holiday rental is also situated on the property (432 COR), and from time to time your discrete and friendly landlords may stay on the ground floor of your house.
The beautiful garden is equipped with a table and chairs, and there is a table tennis table and a hammock. A little path leads you to the pool surrounded with nature (11 m x 5 m, depth 1,30 m), which you share with the inhabitants of the holiday rental 432 COR. Of course, the pool area is also equipped with deck chairs and sunshades.
The unit itself has a small open kitchen (4 gas burners, Electric oven, refrigerator, coffee make), a living/ dining room (fire place, two sofas, dining table, TV with satellite channels), two bedrooms and a bathroom (shower + WC). The first bedroom is furnished with a 170 cm double bed. The second one has two 80 cm single beds, which have been pushed together.
The beautiful antique furnishing is unostentatious and stylish, and the unit is very neat and tidy.
Parking spaces are available on the backside of the house. Well-educated animals are welcome. All shopping facilities are about 3 km away. There is a shared laundry (washing machine, iron board, wash-bowl). The last bit of the access road (800 m) is a dirt road. You can taste the olive oil and the vine, which are produced on the property (especially the very typical Vin Santo). Moreover, your landlords have five horses and may organise trail rides on demand.
Tuscany is world famous for its beautiful landscape and offers a multitude of hiking trails. Visit the culturally important cities Florence (also referred to as “birthplace of the Renaissance”), Siena (with its unique “Piazza del Campo”) or Pisa (because of its famous leaning tower).
Enjoy Tuscany’s culinary richness, too! Vines, olive oil, cheese, the famous “Lardo di Colonnata” (bacon from the nearby city of Colonnata) and the most delicious “Cantucci” (almond biscuit served with a glass of Vin Santo) await you!
