Surroundings

Gargas is closely linked to ochre mining in the Luberon. Gargas is the last village in Europe where ochre is still mined. The Mines de Bruoux, old underground ochre mines just a few kilometres from the village centre, are remnants from the glory years of the ochre industry. Its dizzying cliffs with their flaming colours and a gigantic labyrinth of galleries form this unique and mysterious scenery where man’s work blends with the beauty of the landscape.

Garden and land

You enter the property through a large gate and can park your car in front of the house (max. 3 cars in a row). Behind the house you will find a beautiful garden with pool (3x7m, with fence) and view of the Luberon mountains. The property is planted with trees and you will find a small sheltered corner next to the house with a table and chairs to enjoy your lunch in the sun.

The property

Ground floor When you enter through the main door, you enter a small corridor. On the left side, a door opens to the first bathroom (shower, WC). At the end of the small hallway you are in a living room with TV and fireplace. On the left side of the living room there is a reading room (bed bench for 2 persons). To the right of the living room is another corridor leading to a first bedroom with a double bed, a second master bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom (shower, WC) with adjoining laundry room and finally to a third bedroom with 3 single beds (bunk bed). Returning to the living room and continuing straight ahead, small stairs (secured by a railing) separate you from the large dining room, which is very bright thanks to French doors leading to the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped and open to this room.

Good to know
Highchairs are at your disposal. The village of Gargas is a 5-minute walk from the house. There you will find, among other things, a family-friendly pizzeria with a playground, a bakery, a small supermarket and a pharmacy.

30% of the rental price upon booking (advance payment)
70% of the rental price due 6 weeks before the start of the rental period (final payment)
